| Jeg vil beskrive meg selv som | I am new at this… bear with me please: Why I’m here: I am an active senior woman and Covid widow who was happily married for over 30 years to a kind and caring man who gave me 3 stepsons and -later- their dear wives and 6 children who call me Savtah. My family is a gift I would like to share with a kind and caring mentsch who -like me- is a widow after a long and happy marriage, has has an upbeat worldview, loves life and is still committed to making the world a better place until the end of days. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, I would be eager to meet you to get acquainted. Seeking a Special Someone: I am not looking to re-marry but am hopeful I might find a special someone who wants to: share Jewish life, talk about our ideas, dreams, wishes and concerns; share our friends and family; and explore our many interests with one another. Creative Endeavors: I am a creative person who enjoys drawing, writing, working with clay, singing with others, going to live theatre and films and talking about them afterwards, visiting museums, exploring international cuisine to find new ways to expand my plant-based cooking skills, listening to music and audiobooks and reading historical fiction, essays about nature and science, short stories and classics I missed over the years. A Lifelong Learner: I love learning and am exploring my next focus of study. I earned an MA in Jewish Education in 1985 which gave me a fulfilling career of service to the Jewish people. In 2001 I completed a doctorate in Adult Education. My qualitative research focus was on adult learning and interreligious dialogue. Jewish learning and living: Torah study with others is an important part of my week. This practice kept me going in the darkest times of my life. I would be thrilled to share that with you. Pickleball: I started playing non-competitive pickleball last year and enjoy playing weekly indoors at a local club and gym. I began working with a great trainer who helps me improve my reflexes, stamina, strength and balance. It’s pricey but I want to continue. Pets: My last sweet dog Natan was 10 when he died from bladder cancer 6 months ago. Now I’m helping my newest dog - a sweet and friendly 7 year old 10 pound poodle mix - to adjust to her new life with me and the kitty I adopted 2 years ago. I enjoy taking care of these loving pets. They give me a lot of joy. Financial Independence: I own my home and am financially independent. Ideally you can say the same about yourself. I plan to keep my home for many years to come but am willing to travel to spend time with you in your home some of the time. Ideally you will be willing to do the same. Caregiving: When the times come that we need a lot of personal healthcare, I see us each planning now to pay for professional caregivers. I do not want to be a full-time caregiver at this stage of my life. Hopefully you feel the same way. Ideally, we can be able to give one another comfort and love, while professionals do the physical care needed. |
